Accessibility – Key information

We want to ensure that your visit is as pleasant as possible. Here you will find information on accessibility:

For people with walking difficulties and wheelchair users:

The viewing platform is NOT accessible via a ramp!

  • Getting here & parking: Parking spaces are available at Gendarmenmarkt and in nearby multi-storey car parks. Information on accessible public transport can be found here: https://www.visitberlin.de/de/barrierefreiunterwegs-berlin and https://www.bvg.de/de/service-und-kontakt/barrierefrei-unterwegs
  • Access to the building: Most areas open to visitors are accessible without steps, with the exception of the viewing platform. Doors and passageways are at least 82 cm wide. Step-free access to the building is via the lift at the side entrance (cabin: 110 cm x 210 cm, door width: 90 cm). If the side entrance is locked, please contact us on our main number: +49 30 5268021-735
  • Toilets: Accessible toilets are located on Level 1 (ticket office) and Level 4 (ballroom). They feature ample space to move around, grab rails, wheelchair-accessible washbasins (height 67 cm) and an emergency call button.

For people with visual impairments:

  • Assistance dogs are permitted in all areas.
  • The entrance area is designed to provide high visual contrast.
  • The lighting is bright and glare-free.
  • Signage features clearly legible text and high contrast.
  • Wayfinding information is available in written form and in tactile formats (e.g. raised lettering).
  • Lift controls are tactile.

For people with hearing impairments:

  • Unfortunately, there is no induction loop system available.
  • An emergency call in the lift is confirmed by an audible signal.

Für Menschen mit kognitiven Beeinträchtigungen:

  • Das Logo der Einrichtung ist von außen gut sichtbar.
  • Leider sind derzeit keine Informationen in Leichter Sprache verfügbar.
